Best Bets for 2022 Masters Tournament

Another four day romp among the azaleas is upon us as golf fans everywhere get set for the 2022 Masters Tournament. Who will take home golf’s greatest prize and don the Green Jacket this year? While we have loads of individual Masters odds articles for you to check out, we wanted to give you a look at some of our favorite Masters props and full weekend bets.

The following are our Best Bets for the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Best Bets for 2022 Masters Tournament

Will There be a Hole-in-One During 2022 Masters | No – (+120)

We are starting the article out with our favorite bet each and every year at the Masters. Everyone loves a hole in one in golf. It doesn’t matter if it happens with your buddies at the local course, or on TV during golf’s biggest stage, a hole in one is always exciting.

While the thrill is undeniable, the likelihood is just not that high. Sportsbooks have to make the “yes” option negative money every year because they take in such a heavy volume of bets by people hoping to cash in on the spectacle. It is also on an insane run, having happened in five of the last six Masters. This leaves an every growing plus money opportunity to bet “no” which has only cashed once in recent tournaments, but has hit 10 times in the last 20 years.

Max Homa nearly sunk a hole-in-one during Wednesday’s final practice round. We hope that is as close as anyone gets the rest of the week.

Pick: Hole-in-one at 2022 Masters – No (+120)

Nationality of 2022 Masters Winner | European (+240)

This bet can be looked at as a type of hedge for those who believe it is finally Jon Rahm’s year to win. The Spaniard comes into the 2022 Masters as the odds on favorite to win in every betting category. Bettors who are backing him are hoping to cash an 11 to 1 ticket, but can put some insurance in place with this bet.

The USA is the heavy favorite, having won six of the last 10 Masters. Europe has not won a Masters since Sergio Garcia claimed his Green Jacket in 2017, but with three of the top-10 spots in the World Golf Rankings locked up, this feels like they year Europe will once again be victorious.

To Make 2022 Masters Cut | Tiger Woods – Yes (-115)

This is the definition of betting with your heart and not with your head, but at just -115 odds, how can you not take a shot on Tiger Woods making the Masters cut?

Tiger has said numerous times throughout Masters coverage this week that he is confident in his golf game and his abilities, but is hesitant about his stamina and ability to walk the entirety of four days. A good strategy in betting on Tiger this weekend might be to back him in the early rounds, and fade him on the weekend.

You could also consider betting on him in some round matchup props in the early days.

Pick: Tiger Woods to Make 2022 Masters Cut – Yes (-115)

To Miss 2022 Masters Cut | Will Zalatoris – Yes (+250)

This is a bet based on normal regression when dealing with high expectation. Zalatoris burst onto the scene and into the hearts of golf fans across the world with an improbable second place finish at the 2021 Masters tournament.

Zalatoris has had a fine season so far, but being the reigning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year who came up just short last year might be too much pressure to handle against such an elite field of competitors. We like Will, but see him struggling to match last seasons success and ultimately missing the cut at the 2022 Masters.

Pick: Will Zalatoris to Miss Cut (+250)

Top-20 Finish at 2022 Masters | Matthew Fitzpatrick (+150)

Matthew Fitzpatrick is a name that often flies under the radar when it comes to betting on the Masters. There could be good reason for it as his average finishing position is 34th in his last five Masters appearances, but he has had an incredible season so far and we are hoping this is the year he finally means business at Augusta.

As the 24th ranked player in the world, Fitzpatrick has placed no lower than 12th in five of his last six tournaments. He is plus money across the board at the 2022 Masters, but we would rather cash a +150 ticket at top-20 than get greedy in going for a top-10 or better.

Will There be a First Time Winner at 2022 Masters | No (+375)

Our final Best Bet for the 2022 Masters Tournament is simply a value pick. We recommend you put only a partial unit on this bet. With eight of the top 10 favorites at the 2022 Masters being non-Masters champions, it makes sense that they “yes” option here is very heavy at -550.

There is simply no value in picking yes here, and bettors who are hoping for a repeat winner have some pretty strong legs to stand on including the likes of Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, and Tiger Woods among others.

The most recent repeat winners were Tiger in 2019, Bubba Watson in 2014 and Phil Mickelson in 2010. It doesn’t happen often, but could certainly happen this year.

Pick: First Time Masters Winner – No (+375)
